Magnolia Global Warming Forum a Success

"I share the vision of the Arkansas Climate Awareness Project of protecting our environment for future generations and encouraging the development of new, home-grown alternative fuel sources." -U.S. Rep. Mike Ross (AR-04)

On July 6, 2006 more than two dozen Arkansans attended an informational forum at Southern Arkansas University on the potential impacts of global warming on the Natural State. The forum also focused on the role Arkansans and our agricultural community can play in solutions to global warming pollution. Attendees learned that many solutions to global warming can be beneficial to our rural economies.

A representative from Congressman Mike Ross' office attended to learn about global warming and solutions in his Congressional District and Dr. Corbet Lamkin delivered an energizing speech about the changes we're seeing because of a warming climate and how it's our responsibility to do something about it.

The Magnolia forum was the first in a series of 12 events Arkansas Climate Awareness Project is holding throughout the state. The next forum is on Tuesday, July 25 in Conway, followed by Little Rock on Wednesday, July 26.
