Little Rock Mayor Stodola Signs Kyoto Agreement

On Mayor Stodola’s Signing Kyoto Agreement to Address Global Warming
LITTLE ROCK, AR — At a press conference today releasing a study showing the increase of heat related deaths due to Global Warming, Little Rock Mayor Stodola announced his recent signature to the US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement.
“The Arkansas Climate Awareness Project would like to sincerely thank Mayor Stodola for his commitment to make Little Rock a healthier place to live. We are excited to hear about all the energy efficiency and other sustainable practices that the city is already undertaking combat global warming.
“This agreement means that Mayor Stodola will strive to meet or beat Kyoto protocol targets, urge governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 7% to 1990 levels by 2012, and urge congress to pass bipartisan greenhouse gas legislation which would establish a carbon cap and trade system.”
“The fact that Mayor Stodola signed the Mayor’s Kyoto Agreement is proof that he has chosen to lead the way in climate change protection not only for the city of Little Rock, but for our nation as well.
“His signature joins those by other Arkansas Mayors such as previous Little Rock Mayor Jim Dailey, North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Hayes, and Fayetteville Mayor Dan Coody.”
