ARCAP's Forums Were All Carbon-Free!

As we read some of the economic and environmental impacts of global warming on our local communities and the world, it can be overwhelming. However, there are some good stores of solution based action.

For example, all 14 of ARCAP's global warming forums that were presented around the state from June through October of this year were carbon-free! How could that be?

We worked with www.CarbonFund.org to offset our carbon impact. CarbonFund.org charges $5.50/ton of CO2 emitted. Each of our forums was estimated to emit only 3 tons, which means that for $15/event we became carbon-neutral. Most of the carbon emitted by our forums was in the form of travel to and from the location by presenters and attendees.

How does CarbonFund.org offset our carbon impact? They invest for us in renewables, energy efficiency, and reforestation efforts. Plus, they are a non-profit organization so these fees are tax-deductible.
