ARCAP at Natural State Expo

Arkansas Sustainability Network Presents Natural State Expo 2007 at Statehouse Convention Center

ARCAP Hosts Booth on Climate Change at Natural State Expo

Little Rock, AR - The Arkansas Sustainability Network will present the second annual Natural State Expo Saturday, October 13th, at the Statehouse Convention Center. The Natural State Expo promises to showcase “the sustainable side of Arkansas.”  Over 60 exhibition booths will feature environmentally friendly products, services, and technology from Arkansas businesses, nonprofit organizations, and state and city agencies.  The exhibition booths will be accompanied by “Innovation Alley,” a youth activity and education area.

Don Richardson, Director of the Arkansas Climate Awareness Project, will be present to answer questions about climate change and energy savings.  The ARCAP booth will have energy savings booklets, news about climate change actions in Arkansas, and much more.

“Arkansans are increasingly concerned about the environment but too often feel that there is nothing they can do about it,” said Danielle de Preux, Coordinator of the Arkansas Sustainability Network.  “I think Arkansans will be amazed when they see resources that are already available for living an environmentally-friendly life in the Natural State.  And the organizations in attendance at the Natural State Expo represent only the beginning of what is possible for Arkansas.  We have a wonderful opportunity to protect our environment, improve our health, grow our economy, and strengthen our communities all at the same time.”

The Natural State Expo will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13th.  Admission is free, though donations are encouraged and appreciated.  For more information about the Arkansas Sustainability Network and Natural State Expo, visit www.arnetwork.org, or www.naturalstateexpo.org, or call (501)372-6996.
